| dc.description.abstract | This paper presents the design of a 5G switched-beam dual-band antenna capable of operating at 0.7 GHz and 2.6 GHz, addressing the growing demands of modern wireless communication systems. The proposed antenna features grooves and parasitic elements to enhance bandwidth performance, a critical parameter for efficient signal transmission and reception. Additionally, the antenna employs a short-circuiting mechanism to enable main beam switching in two distinct directions, a functionality that aligns with adaptive and intelligent control principles. The measured bandwidth of the antenna is 15.35 MHz at 0.7 GHz and 72.83 MHz at 2.6 GHz, with bandwidth improvements of 5.22 MHz at 0.7 GHz and 8.66 MHz at 2.6 GHz compared to a conventional antenna. These improvements represent a 51.53% increase at 0.7 GHz and a 13.5% increase at 2.6 GHz, showcasing significant performance enhancements. The lightweight, compact, and simple structure of the antenna makes it suitable for practical applications in 5G networks. The design process involved the application of computational methods and modeling techniques using specialized simulation software to optimize the antenna's parameters for beam switching and bandwidth improvement. This work bridges advanced antenna design and control applications, contributing to the development of efficient and reliable communication systems. | |
