Having the research sample of 591 and 466 students of both institutions, the data collected within Moodle and Blackboard LMSs were processed by the method of frequency analysis, structured according six criteria (learners' visit rate to the course, learners' performance in week days, learners' performance in hours of the day, learners' performance during weeks of the semester; learner-tutor communication via email during the semester; grading of learners' knowledge after the semester) and compared. In the results different number of assignments was reflected mostly showing higher visit rates to the technology for education course conducted at University of Ostrava compared to English for specific purposes at University of Hradec Kralove.
