Event organizers often encounter challenges in manpower planning, which is essential for efficient event operations. This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of volunteerism in sport event management. It begins by defining key terms and then progresses to review prominent literature in the field. Subsequently, the focus shifts to discussing the diverse motivations driving individuals to participate in sport events as volunteers. This exploration offers valuable insights into understanding the complex nature of volunteer engagement in sports event management, benefiting related stakeholders.
