Nowadays, most artificial hip joints used to treat patients in Thailand are imported from abroad, causing high costs. Normally, the prosthetic hips are larger in size compared to the anatomy of Asian people, as the production of artificial hip joints has primarily been based on European anatomy. The purpose of this study is to collect hip anatomy data of Asian people for analysis to improve the prototype of a prosthetic hip joint and test the performance of the artificial hip joint using the finite element method. The test will be based on the ISO 7206-4 test standard. From the results of the study, it was found that the designed size 2 hip prosthetic shaft passed the test standard using the finite element method and has been tested for efficiency in a real test room according to ISO 7206-4 testing standards.
