In this paper, an effectiveness of the classical method proposed by Clayton R. Paul [1]-[3] for estimating radiated electromagnetic interference (EMI) from measured common-mode currents for switching power supply as a noise source is evaluated. The proposed radiated EMI prediction method by Clayton R. Paul [1]-[3] is compared with the testing results in the standard anechoic chamber in order to verify its effectiveness. From the experimental results, it can be concluded that the procedure to predict the radiated EMI of proposed method by [1]-[3] is easy to follow, and it needs only the measured common-mode current using the high-frequency clamp-on current probe. Although, this method can be used as a guideline for radiated EMI prediction, the accuracy of this method needs to be improved. © 2020 IEEE.
