Integrative learning process to enhance competencies for sustainable development

Abstract

The integrative learning process is a positive challenge that involves preparing learners for the everchanging environment. This study aimed to present the integrative learning process with steps and integrative learning process activities, alongside an in-depth analysis of competencies for sustainable development and the whole-school approach for sustainable development for collaboration toward global sustainable development. The integrative learning process toward logical and interdisciplinary problem-solving skills was analyzed in-depth in this article, including raising a question, opening inquiry, conducting an experiment, and communicating a conclusion. Learners acquired key competencies for sustainable development. The results showed that with the whole-school approach for sustainable development in governance policy and capacity building, curriculum teaching and learning, community partnerships and relationships, and school facilities and operations, learners become more aware of the common interests of socio-cultural and local issues.
