Abstract

Orthodontic treatment with clear aligners is another dental procedure utilized to address dental irregularities such as size, shape, and tooth movement within the oral cavity. This method aims to enhance tooth alignment and functionality more efficiently compared to other orthodontic approaches, while also requiring less time. During clear aligner treatment, teeth undergo forces from the aligner appliances directly, leading to alterations in stress, Young’s modulus, as well as changes in bone density surrounding the teeth. This results in bone remodeling processes to accommodate the tooth movements, known as bone remodeling. In this research study, finite element analysis was employed to compare tooth movement models with and without bone remodeling. The findings revealed that monthly tooth movement leads to a decrease in occlusal force values in the maxilla bones, consequently resulting in reduced bone density in the maxilla bones.
