Abstract
Background/ problem: The Journal of Behavioral Science (TJBS) makes significant contributions to behavioral science knowledge, research, and its applications. Although it has been published since 2006, TJBS gained wider academic recognition after its inclusion in the Scopus database in 2018, raising questions about how this milestone has influenced the scope, quality, and direction of its published research. Objective/ purpose: The study's main objective was to analyze how interdisciplinary research, and advanced methodologies have influenced the content and impact of TJBS, especially since it was included in the Scopus database in 2018. Design and Methodology: A bibliometric analysis design was utilized to quantitatively evaluate publication trends, research themes, and citation patterns in TJBS. Using VOSviewer to visualize data from the Scopus database, 144 out of 154 articles published between 2018 and 2024 were selected for the analysis, excluding 10 review articles. Results: The findings re-affirm substantial interest in diverse behavioral science topics and utilization of advance research methodologies. Journal performance has shown steady progress, with an increase in total publications, author networks, institutional collaborations, and citations over time. The key terms co-occurrences reveal thematic clusters highlighting key areas such as health promotion, organizational behavior, and educational contexts. Conclusion and Implications: The study concludes that TJBS is increasingly focusing on interdisciplinary research, especially in work and health-related themes, particularly in response to contemporary global issues. Implications of these findings are discussed in terms of quality management of similar journals, orientation of scholars and authors, and considerations for future researchers in behavioral science.
