Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate the influence of economic uncertainty, job characteristic-related pressure, and work-family conflict on the job stress levels of Generation Y freelancers and to explore the moderating effects of problem-focused coping on the relationship between economic uncertainty, job characteristic-related pressure, and work-family conflict on the job stress levels of Generation Y freelancers. The sample consisted of 196 Generation Y freelancers with temporary employment, and aged between 23-42. The research instrument for data collection was a five-point rating scale, consisting of five sub-scales: an economic uncertainty scale, a job characteristic-related pressure scale, a work-family conflict scale, a problem-focused coping scale and a job stress scale. The statistics used in the data analysis to test this hypothesis was hierarchical regression analysis. The major findings indicated that economic uncertainty had a negative influence on job stress among the sample with a statistical significance level of .01 (β= -.169, p < .01). The factor of job characteristic-related pressure had a positive influence on job stress with a statistical significance level of .001 (β = .355, p < .001). The aspect of work-family conflict had a positive influence on job stress with a statistical significance level of .001 (β = .330, p < .001). Problem-focused coping had a moderating effect on the relationship between job characteristic-related pressure and job stress with a statistical significance level of .01 (β=1.283, p < .01.). However, problem-focused coping had no moderating effect on the relationship between economic uncertainty and job stress among the sample (β = .284, p > .05) and no moderating effect on the relationship between work-family conflict and job stress among the sample (β=.397, p > .05).

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาอิทธิพลของความไม่แน่นอนของเศรษฐกิจ ความกดดันจากลักษณะงาน และความขัดแย้งระหว่างงานกับครอบครัวที่มีต่อความเครียดในการทำงานของผู้ประกอบอาชีพอิสระในเจเนอเรชันวาย และเพื่อศึกษาอิทธิพลของความไม่แน่นอนของเศรษฐกิจ ความกดดันจากลักษณะงาน และความขัดแย้งระหว่างงานกับครอบครัวที่มีต่อความเครียดในการทำงานของผู้ประกอบอาชีพอิสระในเจเนอเรชันวายโดยมีรูปแบบการจัดการความเครียดแบบมุ่งเน้นการแก้ปัญหาเป็นตัวแปรกำกับ ตัวอย่างวิจัยคือ ผู้ประกอบอาชีพอิสระแบบจ้างงานชั่วคราวในเจเนอเรชันวายที่มีอยู่ระหว่าง 23 – 42 ปี จำนวน 196 คน แบบสอบถามในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลใช้มาตรวัด 5 มาตรวัดประกอบด้วย มาตรวัดความไม่แน่นอนของเศรษฐกิจ มาตรวัดความกดดันจากลักษณะงาน มาตรวัดความขัดแย้งระหว่างงานกับครอบครัว มาตรวัดรูปแบบการจัดการความเครียดแบบมุ่งเน้นการแก้ปัญหา และมาตรวัดความเครียดในการทำงาน สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเพื่อทดสอบสมมติฐานคือสถิติการวิเคราะห์ถดถอยพหุเชิงชั้น ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ความไม่แน่นอนของเศรษฐกิจมีอิทธิพลทางลบกับความเครียดในการทำงานอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .01 (β= -.169, p< .01) ความกดดันจากลักษณะงานมีอิทธิพลทางบวกกับความเครียดในการทำงานของผู้ประกอบอาชีพอิสระในเจเนอเรชันวายอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .001 (β= .355, p< .001) และความขัดแย้งระหว่างงานกับครอบครัวอิทธิพลทางบวกกับความเครียดในการทำงานของผู้ประกอบอาชีพอิสระในเจเนอเรชันวายอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .001 (β= .330, p< .001) รูปแบบการจัดการความเครียดแบบมุ่งเน้นการแก้ปัญหามีอิทธิพลกำกับในอิทธิพลของความกดดันจากลักษณะงานที่มีต่อความเครียดในการทำงานของผู้ประกอบอาชีพอิสระในเจเนอเรชันวายอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .01 (β= 1.283, p< .01) แต่รูปแบบการจัดการความเครียดแบบมุ่งเน้นการแก้ปัญหาไม่มีอิทธิพลกำกับในอิทธิพลของความไม่แน่นอนของเศรษฐกิจที่มีต่อความเครียดในการทำงานของผู้ประกอบอาชีพอิสระในเจเนอเรชันวาย (β= .284, p> .05) และไม่มีอิทธิพลกำกับอิทธิพลของความขัดแย้งระหว่างงานกับครอบครัวที่มีต่อความเครียดในการทำงานของผู้ประกอบอาชีพอิสระในเจเนอเรชันวาย (β= .397, p> .05)
