| dc.description.abstract | The effect of foot strike pattern on ankle impact force during running by comparing the gender differences between males and females through numerical model has been performed using Finite Element Method (FEM), Explicit Dynamic model. The right leg model of the runners was used to evaluate the stress and force at the ankle in each foot strike pattern. The analysis of each figure was carried out using the same method. The stress distribution characteristics under different angles, stepping, and pressure positions in the forefoot and hindfoot. According to the walking conditions with foot angles of -10°, 0° and 10°, it was found that the maximum stress in the case of angle -10° was concentrated near the heel and forefoot, compared to 0° and 10°, which showed a more balanced distribution. The comparison of the average stress in the ankle area for males and females, whereas the foot angle -10°, is highest for males compared to the 0° and 10° foot angles. The foot angle of -10° is more likely to cause short-term high stresses that may cause impact force and injury, such as plantar fascia, while the 10° angle has a more consistent highest force that may create long-term stresses. | |
