dc.description.abstract Three treatment-resistant schizophrenic patients with mental retardation were successfully treated with maintenance ECT combined with neuroleptics over a period of 6-18 months. There were no adverse effects. This report illustrates the benefits of ECT in schizophrenic patients with mental retardation.
