Abstract:
The study aims to examine how tourism impacts the Mon community of Ban Wang Ka,
located in Nong Lu Subdistrict, Sangkhla Buri District, Kanchanaburi Province, with a focus on
societal and cultural, economic, and environmental aspects. Using qualitative methods, including
document analysis, related research review, and interviews with selected individuals through
purposive and chain sampling, as well as non-participant observation, when analyzed, it was
pointed out that the tourism of the Mon community of Ban Wang Ka In social and cultural aspects
When tourism comes in, the community changes its attitude, way of life, culture, and develops the
infrastructure system. As a result, the community sees channels from tourism. Homestay
restaurants and souvenir shops were born to become the community's main income in the
economic field. Guided tours and tourist transportation services Including the involvement of the
government sector in developing to respond to popular trends. and is conducive to tourists at the
same time, many tourists are coming into the community. The increase in tourism leads to
environmental problems such as garbage problems, polluted water, dust, and smoke caused by
consumption. Congestion of vehicles and people includes social problems such as the infiltration
of criminals. The division between the villager's drug problems and extravagance is based on
external values from tourists and social media. These issues mentioned above are the result of
tourism's impact on the Mon community of Ban Wang Ka. They should be addressed and
developed in the future.
