Abstract:
This research purposed to 1) build creative drama activities for self-awareness skill development of homeless
children in International Dek Kor Sang Center of Foundation for the Better Life and 2) develop their self-awareness
skill.
The process of building the creative drama activities, the author designed the activity in accordance with 8-
learnings theory by Gagne in order to develop their self-awareness skill which will be the immunity to protect and
relieve the violence of mental problems. The activities affect the adjustment of emotion, socialization, and learning
of children and youth because these are the foundation for viewing their life and social and emotional abilities. They
will be conscious of self-values. As Office of the Basic Education Commission has regulated the components of life
skills that will increase the immunity of children in the changing society and prepare them for the future in 2008, the
sample group was homeless children in International Dek Kor Sang Center of Foundation for the Better Life.
According to the research,
1. Regarding the creative drama activities for self-awareness development and Rubin’s Self Esteem Scale, the
self-values of children according to Theoretical Range of Scores are at the high level.
2. Regarding the creative drama activities for self-awareness skill development of homeless children in
International Dek Kor Sang Center of Foundation for the Better Life, the mean of life skill in self-awareness is at 4.41
which is at the high level.
