Abstract:
This engineering project aims to control the transformer tank production process and improve the quality of the transformer tank by using Six Sigma technique. The goal is to reduce waste caused by poor welding quality and improve operational standards for the welding process with the goal of increasing the sigma level (ϭ). By increasing the quality of the transformer tank uses the methods of Six Sigma. Beginning with the identification of
problems, analyzing the process of measurement and analyzing the cause of the problem by brainstorming through the fishbone diagram. It was found that the factors that affect the welding leakage are the welding current and the voltage used in the welding. Then take the factors obtained to test to find out whether the factors affecting the welding leak are statistically significant. The test results show that the welding current and the voltage are significant and then adjusted by finding the suitable factor by the experimental design
method to get the suitable value of the welding current. The improvement results showed that it could reduce waste due to the poor welding 10% and the quality level increased from 2.0316 up to 2.4122 or 39%
