Abstract:
The objective of this engineering project is to review production plans when product demand changes. The company, a case study, is an electrical appliance manufacturer. From the initial data survey there was a problem of insufficient storage which was the actual root cause. Also there was the over production. Resulting in the loss of the whole space was used to store inventory pending for delivery. Resulting in a high cost of product storage while the value of the product is stable. It was found that the products demand was decreased from previously forecasting. Therefore the current production plan with fixed rate 640 pieces per day should be reviewed. By adjusting to be a plan with actual demand by using the principle of aggregate planning. The goal is to improve the production plan to be suitable for the purchase order and the cost reduction of inventory storage pending for delivery. The result of the improvement in the production plan can reduce the cost of production and storage of excessive products by 116,184 baht or 60.24% of the original production plan.
