Abstract:
The aim of this chemical engineering project was to study the ability of the niobate compounds: KNbOp K4Nb6017 KNb3Os, K,Nb4O| 1, and the raw material, Nb2O5, to adsorb the methylene blue and Cr (VI). The experimental results showed that the adsorption of all adsorbents followed the Langmuir isotherm and the kinetic adsorption data was fitted to pseudo-second order
rate model. However, K4Nb6017 showed the highest absorption ability of the methylene blue and Cr (VI). The maximum absorption capacity (q 11) the methylene blue and Cr (VI) using K4Nb6017 were 25.0000 and 1.9881 mg/g, respectively, and the Langmuir adsorption constant (KL) were 0.2000 and 0.0538 L/mg, respectively. In the addition, the pseudo-second order adsorption rate constants were 0.4234 and 0.5283 mg/g-h, respectively.
