Abstract:
This engineering project intends to develop a device that will help patients who have had
total knee arthroplasty to regain their abilities in daily life. According to statistics from the National
Statistical Office of Thailand, Thailand is on the threshold of becoming an aging society. Moreover,
the pandemic situation makes people getting to the hospital harder. This telerehabilitation is done
to prevent joint stiffness and to alleviate the discomfort caused by inflammation of the muscles,
bones, and joints while patients live in their residence.
The machine was designed to convey usage history data to the doctor via the website for
the reasons described above. The device we created weighs 7.8 kilograms. It has a knee adjustable
range of 90 to 150 with 4 rehabilitation modes that can alter the velocity to 5 levels and the
process of time using the machine can be selected between 5 and 120 minutes. It also contains
an emergency stop button to stop the process. The findings demonstrate that patients can use
the machine at home to reduce self-treatment costs, boost treatment efficacy, and reduce human
resources during treatment.
