Abstract:
The aim of this research were 1) to compare Reading Comprehension Ability and Attitude Toward Reading Comprehension in Thai Language of Grade Six Students before and after they have been taught by Scan and Run Strategy 2). to compare Reading Comprehension Ability and Attitude Toward Reading Comprehension in Thai Language of Grade Six Students taught by Scan and Run Strategy with those taught by conventional instruction. The samples of this study were 2 Classrooms of The Sixth Grade Primary School Students at Chumchonbanputoei School under the Official 0f Primary Education Service Phetchabun Area 3. There were 54 Students by Purposive Sampling, the experimental group taught by Scan and Run Strategy the other was the control group taught by conventional instruction. The research instruments were lesson plans of the Scan and Run Strategy and conventional instruction, Reading Comprehension Ability Test and Attitude Toward Reading Comprehension in Thai Language test. The data were analyzed by arithmetic One-way MANOVA, Repeated measures MANOVA, Mean (M) and Standard Deviation (SD). The results showed that 1) Reading Comprehension Ability and Attitude Toward Reading Comprehension in Thai Language of The Sixth Grade Students was significantly higher than before receiving instruction at the level of .05. 2) Reading Comprehension Ability and Attitude Toward Reading Comprehension in Thai Language of The Sixth Grade Students taught by Scan and Run Strategy was significantly higher than those taught by conventional instruction at the .05 level
