Abstract:
This article is a study of aircraft’s development and aviation technology that has an impact on the Thai Air Force, 1911-1951. The study should focus on how such development affects the air force’s structure by using official documents of the Air Force, the funeral books of the Air Force as well as various documents describing Air Force’s activity in the studied period. The study’s result shows that Air Force’s personnel, who had taken part in the First World War, played a major role when speaking about aircraft’s development and aviation technology. They were a key person in producing aircrafts, which were influenced by the western technology. The number of the aircrafts had an impact on the expanding structure of the Air Force and on establishing a fighting squadron. The study found out in the end of the study year that the more complicated technology came with the Second World War, and the Air Force did need a plan to deal with it.
