Abstract:
This research article studies about the Thai Royal Cremation Ceremony and royal funeral pyre from the reign King Rama VI to 2017 AD by comparison of evidence. According to previous study, it shows that there are changes in many procedures of the royal cremation ceremony, including form and size of royal funeral pyre. It starts in His Majesty King Chulalongkorn Maharaj’s royal Cremation Ceremony and more increasing in Her Majesty Queen Saovabha Phongsri of The Fifth Reign’s royal Cremation Ceremony, His Majesty King Vajiravudh’s Royal Cremation Ceremony, in that order. In addition, there is change again in the reign of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej because of technology development. Therefore, technology is applied in royal cremation and corpse of king enshrinement tradition such as, the reduction size of royal funeral pyre, the change of Grand Funeral Procession details, enshrinement corpse of king in coffin instead of royal urn, and etc. Until these big changes become royal cremation ceremony tradition at 2017 AD
