Abstract:
This research focused on safeguarding processes of Thai Puan Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH)
implemented by Wat Fangklong Chalermraja Cultural Center, Pakplee District, Nakornnayok Province. This
research employed a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews of 15 executive board members of
Wat Fangklong Chalermraja Cultural Center , two government officers of Nakornnayok Province Cultural
Office, and one government officer of Department of Cultural Promotion, and participating observation.
When analyzing the data systematically, the results of the study found that Wat Fangklong Chalermraja
Cultural Center with the supporting factor which is participation of the community, schools, and
governmental organizations employed five safeguarding processes of Thai Puan intangible cultural heritage
including (1) identification and inventory of ICH ,(2) dissemination of ICH, (3) transmission and inheritability of
ICH, (4) ICH recreating, (5) developing capacity of Wat Fangklong Chalermraja Cultural Center’s executive
board members.
