Abstract:
The objective of this research was to examine needs analysis in communication skills development of students in Bachelor of Education Program, Srinakharinwirot University. The samples used were 350 students in Bachelor of Education Program studied in the first semester of the academic year of 2014 recruiting with multi-stage sampling technique. The research instrument used was a questionnaire of Communication Skills Inventory including 5 topics: Speaking Communication Skill, Listening Communication Skill, Writing Communication Skill, Reading Communication Skill, and Foreign Language Communication Skill, with the total number of 39 questions. The analysis contained descriptive statistics for sampling and variables and the needs analysis using PNImodified index. The overall of needs analysis revealed that the needs to be developed: Foreign Communication Skills (PNImodified = 0.46), Speaking Communication Skills (PNImodified = 0.30) Listening Communication Skills (PNImodified = 0.33), and Writing Communication Skills (PNImodified = 0.30) respectively.
