Abstract:
This research uses mixed method—survey and interview. The data were collected from eleven
people at an elderly care center in Pathumthani. It aims to study problems that occur in the elderly care
centers in urban areas and to propose the legal standard of living accommodation for the elderly and
organizing activities for the elderly. The study found that the elderly care center in urban areas has
several problems including the proportion of caretakers and service attendees are insufficient, the needs
of the elderly are not in accordance with the needs of their relatives, problems in organizing learning activities for elderly, and problems regarding the living areas. The elderly are more satisfied in the overall
venue of the elderly center than the residential area. The elderly are somewhat unsatisfied that the
furniture has sharp corners that can cause harm.
Therefore, the residential standard of the elderly that is in line with the laws and regulations, the
government should launch laws that discuss elderly center venues, residential areas, the surrounding
environment, caregivers, management teams, and related services. In terms of organizing activities for the
elderly, the elderly service center in the urban area should have activities that encourage the elderly to
be physically active, allow the elderly to be lively and interact with other people, inspire elderly to be up
to date with modern changes, and boost elderly pride in themselves both socially and economically
