Research study Roles and Expectations of the Community in Being a University Serving Society A
Case Study of Srinakharinwirot University Prasarnmit objective of this study was to study the expectation
of the community towards the role of a university serving society and to study guidelines and make
recommendations for the role of a university serving society There are key informants, including
community chairmen, community committee members, as well as those who are involved or have
stakeholders with the community there are multiple data collection methods, including in-depth
interviews, focus group, and secondary data collection. The results of the research were as follows Roles and Expectations of the community in being a social service university, the university must
adhere to the current circumstances and needs of culturally diverse communities as a development base
in order to adjust the policy paradigm and integration. Mission of the university in all four areas, including
learning, research, academic service to the community and the maintenance of arts and culture to
develop the body of knowledge from real problem situations leading to the development of academic
problems and issues Including projects and academic service activities that meet the needs of the
community and society. Moreover, the suggestion for the role of the university serving society, the
university should continue with the organization of academic service activities according to the dynamics
of the community problems. And universities should encourage admission to small structured
communities and lose social, economic and resource resources.
