Abstract:
This research aims to study levels of knowledge and awareness on value of the intangible cultural heritage (ICH) of young leaders in the Southeast Asian region and to compare demographic differences of the young leaders in knowledge and awareness on value of the ICH. Data of this research is the secondary data obtaining from the Workshop on Participation of Young Leaders in Southeast Asia for Safeguarding and Transmission of ICH. There were 23 young leaders from S.E. Asia countries including 14 Thais and 9 young leaders from other S.E. countries. The results of the research find that the young leaders highly understand characteristics of the ICH and objectives of safeguarding the ICH but they lowly understand types of the ICH at the statistically significant level of .01. When comparing demographic differences of the young leaders in knowledge and awareness on value of the ICH, the results find that the young leaders with different educational levels and ICH cultural participation have the awareness on the value of the ICH differently at the statistically significant level of .01. Moreover, the Thai young leaders and the young leaders from other Southeast Asia countries are aware of the value of the ICH differently at the statistically significant level of .01.
