Abstract:
The objectives of this project were to develop processed agricultural products from toddy palm and to
design activities and agricultural learning stations for the Palm Sugar Village. This was practical research taking
place at the Palm Sugar Village, Pak Nam Sub-district, Bang Khla District, Chachoengsao Province, Thailand,
with 40 participants which consist of farmers, community merchants, academics, and tourists. This research
used purposive sampling for choosing members of population of the research, and used in-depth surveys, nonparticipation observation and interviews with the stakeholders in product development and tourism activities for
data collection. Then, organized a pilot tourism activities test. As for the data analysis part, we analyzed the
qualitative data by descriptive and narrative The results of the research revealed that the community had their
own unique ways and wisdom in terms of planting, caring for and collecting palm sugar and processing palm
sugar into products. The product made of toddy palm that we developed was the toddy palm boba, and the
activities and learning stations we developed consisted of 3 stations, 1) a station for basic knowledge about
palm trees. 2) a station for making creative products from coconut shells and 3) a station for processing toddy
palm into products. The results of the pilot tourism activities test showed that the overall performance was a
high quality. The developed tourism innovation was at good. The pilot tourists were satisfied with the pilot
tourism activities and had suggestions on how to improve the community-based tourism by improving the tourist
facilities and develop the activities to be more various and efficient
