Abstract:
This engineering project relate to basic principle of fluid flow in open channel flow. This simulated experimental instrument can be utilized in design analysis and study of water flow behavior in open channel flow in many types of weirs nameiv, triangle weir, rectangular weir and trapezoid weir for application in water drainage, irrigation and the flow control of river and dams.The water flow rate of the same height obtained in this experiment will be compared to that obtained in theory. The flow rate of each type will be used to calculate the friction coefficient of fiow rate (Cd). general, the Cd of trapezoid and rectangular weir design is 0.62, whereas triangle -weir is 0.61.The result of this experiment gave the Cd of is wier between 0.64-0.68,
while the calculate Cd is between 0.60-0.75. This result is corresponding to the theory.
