Abstract:
This research had the objectives to 1) study, analyze and categorize identity of Trat province and 2) to design jewelry that expressed identity of Trat province. The research was conducted by studying identity and uniqueness of Trat province by interviewing experts regarding identity of Trat. The data acquired were categorized into the appearing identity groups Along with exploring and assessing people's perceptions of Trat Province identity in each group. Collecting data from questionnaire of 200 people. Data analysis will be used to design and develop a jewelry with entrepreneurs in the area. and selected and produced 2 sets of prototypes.
From the research result, it was found that identity and image of Trat province was acknowledged to be an important port city from the past and it was an important shoreline tourism city of the East of Thailand. It was abundant on natural resources, foods and culture. Therefore, Trat was a famous city on sea tourism of the East, and it was an agricultural and local lifestyle tourism city. It could be divided into 4 contexts including 1) natural context 2) historical context 3) social and lifestyle context and 4) Arts and culture context. Regarding the assessment result of awareness and understanding of identity of Trat of questionnaire respondents, the context with the most awareness was natural context. Regarding the design of identity jewelry of Trat, the research used the concept of creative jewelry design along with specifying design criteria. The design was mixture of Trat identity in various contexts and its format was consistent with the jewelry trend design of 2022. The results of the research were 3 sets of Trat cultural ornaments. Research shows that the ability to Identity can be developed into jewelry. Create unique jewelry and add value to the product.
