Abstract:
The aims of this descriptive research were to explore the relationship between health perceives and self-care behaviors of the people
with diabetes mellitus (DM) in Tungmon Subdistrict, Prasat District, Surin Province. The sample included of 70, 24 males and 46 females
from Stratified randomsampling technique. Data were collected by using three questionnaires assessing personal data, health perceives and
self-care behaviors. Data were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, and Chi-Square. The results of this study indicated that the people
with DM in Tungmon Subdistrict, Prasat District, Surin Province had moderate levels of health perceives and had good levels of Self-care
behaviors. The difference of gender, age, marital status, occupations, the monthlyincome, the period of time that know diagnosis, and
complications shown no difference of healthperceives and the difference of education levels, and income resources shown difference ofHealth
perceives at .05 levels of significance. The difference of gender, the period of time thatknow diagnosis, and complication shown no difference
of health perceives and the difference ofage, marital status, education levels, occupations, and the monthly incomeshown difference of selfcare behaviors at .05 levels of significance. Health perceives of thepeople with DM had positive correlation with self-care behaviors at .05
levels of significance.
