Abstract

There are two purpose of the research “The Establishment of Wat Na Wai’s follower Community”, one is to study about the origin of Wat Na Wai’ Community’s villagers, at Nan Province, and the other is to find the cause that made them immigrate to locate at this area, by use the interview and primary documents from Wat Na Wai (Pub Sa and Bai Lan) combine with published documents from potentate unit to verify the reliability of the resource from assertion above. The research and interview can be concluded as “Wat Nawai’s follower community” today was a part of “Muang Hin” (Hin City) territory in the past, But with frequently state of war made the inhabitant abandoned or herded to other regions. The reducing of original people made them unrelated to Wat Nawai but gave the opportunity for another group from Chiang Khong (Part of Chiang Rai province nowadays) who emigrate from their city by the same cause in 1970 A.D. (2334 B.E.) to settle the community, established Nawai temple and become the majority of Wat Nawai’s follower community today.
