บทคัดย่อ: | Distributed generation is becoming increasingly attractive to power industry. Several distributed generation technologies such as wind turbine generation (WTG) and microturbines are showing promise. Strategically sited distributed generation has been proposed to provide several benefits to electric utilities. One of the important benefit of distributed generation is voltage profile improvement. This paper presents a probabilistic approach based on convolution technique to quantify this benefit in the case of WTG. Mathematical expressions for the probability density function and expected value of load voltage are developed to analyze this benefit for a simple case. Quantification of this benefit is discussed in terms of the mean value of load voltage. A comparison of the results of expected value of load voltage obtained using the probabilistic approach and a non-probabilistic approach employing average values of WTG output and load is presented to investigate whether the non-probabilistic approach is justified. |
