dc.description.abstract | In general pattern recognition, road sign is researched and developed in recent years. The significant problems are the detection and recognition of the road sign. The overcome of these problems is the requirement of automatic road sign recognition in real time. This paper introduces the method of extraction and recognition for road sign. The algorithm starts with the capture of road sign by camera. After the shape of road sign is detected, the sign will be extracted. Lastly, the sign will be recognized by template matching algorithm. The results show a good performance. With these results, we can easily extract the sign based on its center, size and shape. Performance of shape recognition algorithm is tested with road signs. The system is tested. In this study, a road sign recognition system is developed. The algorithm of both the modules is developed by Visual C++ language. © 2011 Pushpa Publishing House. | |
