The patellofemoral joint prosthesis has been a topic of interest comparing to total knee joint replacements. In recent years, there have been more interests in the development of unicompartmental prostheses which is in line with minimally-invasive surgery used in modern days. Therefore, this research presents an in-vitro pilot study in the area of patellofemoral stability characteristics of unicompartmental prosthesis comparing to normal knees. The findings from this research show promising results which will give rise to more researches and interests in developing better unicompartmental knee prosthesis. © 2011 IEEE.
