Abstract:
The mathematical model of biogas-steam reformer to produce hydrogen for a fuel cell application was developed by using COMSOL MULTIPHYSICS™ 3.4 software. The simulated biogas has been studied in five CH4ะCO2 ratios which arc 60:40, 70:30. 80:20, 90:10 and 100:0. Steam to methane ratio (S / c ratio) was varied in the range of produce hydrogen 1-5 by increment of 1, and the studied operating temperature arc 923 973 1,023 1.073 and 1,123 K. From the simulation results, it was found that the hydrogen production will be maximized at operating condition of s/c ratio is 3 and temperature is 1023 K for all studied range of CH4:CO, ratio in biogas composition.
